2018 RESIDENTIAL TRIP TO FRANCE YEAR 5 & 6
We are arranging a residential trip to France for our year 5 and 6 children. The purpose of the trip is to encourage children to develop their skills of cooperation and independence as well as the ability to take responsibility for themselves and others. It will also develop the children’s historical understanding about World War 2, which Year 6 will be studying, and will give the children the opportunity to speak French.
The trip will take place from Monday, 4th June until Friday 8th June 2018. The children will stay at Chateau du Molay, near the town of Le Molay, not far from the Normandy coast. The cost of the trip is £400.00 per child. We will be traveling by coach via the Eurotunnel. The price includes all transport cost, visit costs and full board.
Examples of activities:
- Visit to Bayeaux Town and Bayeux tapestry
- Visit to D Day Museum
- Visit to Chateau du Molay Market
- Entrance to Arromanches 360 Museum
- A day at American cemetery including the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy
- Variety of activities on site at the Chateau, including a Disco and Frogs Legs and Snails night
Approximately 5 adults will accompany the children, depending on numbers. The children will be supervised at all times. The cost is based on 40 pupils attending the trip.
If you would like to reserve a place for your child, please return the attached slip together with a £50.00 deposit (non-refundable) by Friday 15th September 2017. Further payments can be paid by installments. Payment dates will be arranged when we have received and confirmed your place once the initial deposit has been received.
Please be aware that if you pay the deposit, you will be liable for the FULL COST of the trip.
If you have any concerns about your child taking part on this trip please do not hesitate to contact me.
