We have been fortunate enough to be offered a unique opportunity for Year 3 to visit the local hospital to find about the work that goes on. It is part of a drive by Southampton General Hospital to allow children to become more familiar with the hospital so as to reduce any worries or anxieties they might have should they ever need to visit the hospital for any reason.
The children will leave school at 9am and be given a tour of the children’s A and E department along with being able to go inside an ambulance and be given a talk by NHS professionals. We will aim to be back by 11.45 am so children can have their normal lunch.
To make sure the children get the most out of the visit they will be visiting half a class at a time. There is no cost to the trip but children will need to be in school uniform.
Children will be visiting the hospital over the following dates:
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Year 3 team.
