Year 4 Trip to Weald and Downland Living Museum – Tuesday 9th July 2019
To continue our Year 4 topic about the Tudors, we have arranged an exciting visit to Weald and Downland Living Museum, located in Chichester in West Sussex, on Tuesday 9th July 2019. The children will spend the whole day at the museum, exploring Tudor archaeology and carrying out some fun activities, including making their own pomander beads, sweet-smelling balls which were used as a prevention against disease in the Tudor period.
We will travel to and from the museum by bus. Because it is a very full day of activities, the bus will need to leave the school by 9.00am and will not return until 3.00pm. The children do not need to wear school uniform but as they will be spending a lot of time outside they need to be dressed appropriately for the weather.
The children should also bring a packed lunch and a drink in a suitable bag. Those children who normally receive free school meals will be provided with a packed lunch, however, we would ask that you indicate this on the reply slip, please. There is a small shop on site where the children will be able to buy small items. Please do not give your child any more than
£5.00 to spend. If your child has any special medical or other needs, please ensure their class teacher is aware of these.
We are asking for a contribution of £15.00 per child to cover the costs of the trip. Please pay by cash/cheque (cheques made payable to Beechwood Junior School.) If insufficient contributions are received, unfortunately, this visit may need to be cancelled.
We realise that this is an expensive trip but feel it is very worthwhile. If you would like to pay for this trip in instalments, please indicate this on the reply slip and return to the office with the first instalment. However, please be aware that the trip will need to be paid for in full by Monday 8th July 2019.
