We are a group of children from Beechwood Junior School Community Club. Since September, we have helped our local community by litter picking, tending to graves, leaf clearing, singing with the elderly and helping with our local church luncheon club.
Recently we discovered that a child becomes homeless every 8 minutes in the UK, which is 183 children every day. This left us feeling upset and we want to try and make a difference, however small this may be.
As a result of this, we have been creating care packages to be given to those in need in Southampton. We have included a photograph of the 16 bags we have put together this week which included items that had been donated from local shops.
As a shop within our local community, we wondered whether you would be able to donate anything that you think might be of use in a care package. This could include toiletries such as deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sanitary products, snacks, chewing gum, cereal bars, gloves, socks, drawstring bags, tissues/wet wipes, small toy, meal vouchers, bottles of water, etc.
We are sure you will agree these items will be gratefully appreciated and hope that you are able to support in a small way.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.
Very best wishes,
Beechwood Junior School Community Club
