Choir Concert with the Southampton University Symphony Orchestra
Saturday 26th November, 7.30pm, Central Hall, St Mary’s St. SO14 1NF
I am so pleased that your child will be joining us for the concert with the Southampton University Symphony Orchestra on Saturday at Central Hall. The children are only singing for a very short part of the concert but it is a tricky song and they have worked really hard to get it right. It will be a fantastic opportunity for them to sing with a large orchestra and I hope they will really enjoy listening to the rest of the concert.
Just to remind you, the children will need to arrive at Central Hall at 4.15 on Saturday afternoon. They will have a 1 hour rehearsal with the orchestra then they will have a 2 hour break until the concert starts at 7.30. They will need to bring a packed tea with them and a drink. It will probably be a good idea for them to bring something to do while they are waiting such as a small game, pack of cards, notebook and pen or a book. (Nothing electronic or valuable please.)
For the concert the children need to wear grey/black trousers or skirts, a white shirt/polo shirt and school shoes. (Basically school uniform.) They have also been asked to bring a winter hat which can be any colour.
When you arrive please bring your child round to the stage door at the back of Central Hall on St Mary’s Street. I will meet them there. If you are taking your child out for tea, please wait in the same place and I will bring them out to you at about 5.30. They need to be back by 7.15.
If you are taking your child home at the interval (approx. 8.15) then you will need to collect them from out dressing room which I think will be in the gym (towards the back through the café).
If you are collecting your child at the end (approx. 9.30) you will probably have to come to the same place to collect them.
If you are coming to watch the concert, I hope you enjoy hearing one of Southampton’s top orchestras. I look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
