Crumbs Food Project

Beechwood Junior School  is pleased to be involved in the Crumbs Food Project, a scheme run by Fairshare and Scratch in Southampton, which provides  free food to Community Groups and Schools. This food is donated by well- known supermarkets and is within date, of high quality and available free of charge.

These items are delivered to school on a weekly basis (at present on a Wednesday), and usually consists of cereals, tins and jars as well as chilled fresh items. We are not able to predict what is available until it is delivered to the school. Prepared food bags are ready for collection from school at the end of the school day, and due to storage issues (especially chilled items) cannot be distributed at other times.

We have been distributing these items to some families but would like to update our list to ensure that the food is available to any families who are in need. This may be long term or on a short term basis, depending upon the individual family circumstances.

If you would like to either continue or become involved in this project please complete the information slip below and return it to the school.
