Years 5 Monday 3rd June -Friday 7th June 2019and 6 Residential to London
We are arranging an exciting residential visit for Year 5 and 6 children for next year. We are able to offer 48 children the opportunity to go on a residential visit to London. We have run this trip in previous years and as well as being lots of fun, the purpose of the trip is for the children to develop their skills in co-operation, teamwork and independence as well as the ability to take responsibility for themselves and others. They will also get to see some of the fantastic history, culture and attractions in our Capital City.
The cost of this trip will be £439 per child. The price includes all transport, activity programme costs and is full board.
The itinerary is yet to be confirmed, however, examples of proposed visits are:
• Natural History Museum
• London Zoo
• London Eye
• Hard Rock Cafe
• National Gallery
• Boat trip on the Thames
• West End Show
• Imperial War Museum
If your child would like to apply for a place on this trip, please return the attached slip together with a £50 deposit in either cash or cheque. Please make all cheques payable to Beechwood Junior School. Places will only be reserved for children when the deposit is received along with the signed reply slip below. The cut-off date to apply for a place with your deposit is Friday 28th September 2018.
This trip has been very popular in previous years, if more children apply than there are places, names will be pulled out of a hat after 28th September, the closing date. If you would like to apply for a place, please complete and return the form and deposit as quickly as possible. You will be informed after the closing date if your child has secured a place on the trip.
Once the school has received the deposit, you are liable to pay the full cost of the trip by the 3rd May 2019. No refunds will be available for any reason if your child does not subsequently take part in the trip.
A child’s place may be withdrawn if their behaviour or attendance in school is not as it should be, or if the payments for their place are not made on time and the balance cleared by 3rd May 2019. There will be no refund if your child’s place is withdrawn.
You will be issued with a payment schedule once your place is confirmed. Payment dates will be spread through the next two terms and the expectation is that payment is received by the school on those dates. Payments can be made on-line, after your place is confirmed. We may be able to help with the cost of this trip if you have difficulty funding all of it. Please ask to speak to the Headteacher in this instance.
There will be an information evening held in March/April 2019 to answer any questions you may have. The date of the information evening will be sent out in due course.
If you have any concerns about your child taking part on this trip, please do not hesitate to contact me. This trip has previously been a fantastic experience for the children.
