Year 5 Visit to Testwood Lakes – Thursday 27th April 2017
As part of our ‘Looking after our environment’ topic next half-term, Year 5 are planning a visit to Westwood Lakes in Totton. During the day, we will be taking part in a recycling challenge and identifying materials that are reusable.
We will travel to and from Testwood Lakes by bus, leaving school at approximately 9.00am and returning by the end of the school day. The children do not need to wear school uniform but should wear clothing suitable for the outdoors. Appropriate coat and footwear sould also be worn.
The children should also bring a packed lunch and a drink in a suitable bag. If your child is entitled to a free school meal, they will be provided with a packed lunch but we would ask that you indicate this on the reply slip. If possible, we need to minimize the amount of rubbish we create from our packed lunches as this is part of the activities we do and it will become a bit of a competition. The aim is to produce the smallest amount of non-recyclable rubbish possible.
We are asking for a contribution of £8 per child to cover the costs of the trip. Please pay on-line or by cash/cheque (cheques made payable to Beechwood Junior School). If insufficient contributions are received, unfortunately, this visit may need to be cancelled.
